Prolonging Temporary Residency of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation

We would like to inform you that, effective March 19, 2020, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) has announced extension of temporary residency (registration), as well as visas, held by foreign persons in Russia in light for the coronavirus pandemic.

'Foreign citizens who have arrived to the Russian Federation on the basis of a visa, may have its duration extended, regardless of the purpose of their visit to Russia. If their visa has expired, the duration of their temporary stay may also be extended.’

Foreign citizens from CIS countries may have their temporary residency in the Russian Federation extended, even if it has already expired.
